Q & A with J. Junior
This page is for any of you readers that want to ask me a question. I will answer it pretty quickly and will give you the best advice I can. Remember though, listen and use your own discretion when applying the techniques I suggest. Not every method works best for every person. The advice I give you will be more customized than the advice on the rest of the site because I can take your own unique situation into consideration before advising.
So if you have a question for me just post a comment on this page. Take care!

Hi, my wife lives in Brazil and she will be moving to the US soon to live with me permanently, and we will be starting our new lives together. My wife has great credit in Brazil but I have poor credit here in the US. Does her credit rating follow her to the US when she becomes a citizen here, and on the flip side of that, if I go to Brazil will my bad credit follow me? Thanks for your time.

Art,
Thanks for your question, it is a good one. Other countries all have their own credit rating and approval system, and none of them are interchangeable with one another. This may change in the future but for now it is the way it will be. Your US credit rating is worth nothing in Brazil and your wife’s credit rating in Brazil is worth nothing in the US. You have to start over when you enter a new country, sometimes this is great (like for you), and sometimes this is not so great (like for your wife). Best wishes to both of you.
